My Study

Currently, I am doing an MSc. course in Computing at the University of North London. The program I chose is a one-year full time program, which offers a wide range of modules. The semester A includes four compulsory modules, which are Introduction to Computing, C++, System Analysis and Database, Discrete Maths and Functional Programming. These four modules are designed to lay a foundation for furthur studies in semester B. This is because many of us came from various academic backgrounds, and had little, or even no computing education before. So these modules did help a lot in equipping us with basic knowledge in computing.

Besides these four compulsory modules, there are eight elective modules in semeter B. We are expected to choose three out these eight modules, which cover both hardware aspect and software aspect. The area I am interested in is DBMS. As I have a solid academic background of finance and management, I would like to go into the direction of business software applications. Well, I feel that I've got so many things to learn now. And this semester is going to be a challenge for me. However, learning can be an enjoying thing too. I hope that I can get most out of this course. So far, I am happy that I chose this course, as I have learnt to think more logically and analytically than ever.
